Old Discovery, New Technology
The Thyroflex Test
According to its creator, the Thyroflex test is the most advanced thyroid function test available today, and Lesley makes it available here in Perth. Measuring thyroid function with a quick & simple reflex test, the Thyroflex System is a non-invasive method of effectively measuring thyroid function with a high degree of accuracy.

The Thyroflex System
Old Discovery, New Technology
The connection between slow reflexes & thyroid issues was made in the late 19th century when doctors studying patients with Hypothyroidism observed that clinically hypothyroid individuals have very slow or absent tendon reflexes. And the speed at which the reflex reaction occurs is an indicator of our metabolic function; the lower the speed of conduction, the lower the metabolic function.
In support of this research, the Thyroflex System was developed by American thyroid specialist Dr Daryl Turner, for the purpose of testing for sub-clinical hypothyroid.
By measuring your brachioradialis reflexometry (reflex speed of the forearm) the Thyroflex identifies if your thyroid function is under or overactive or within optimal range.
Why Thyroflex?
Traditional blood testing of the thyroid shows how much hormone we have, but it doesn't tell us how well the thyroid hormone is working. So, even though a blood test may determine that you have good thyroid hormone levels, the Thyroflex test provides even greater insight.
Once tested, an extensive thyroid panel may be required to get a full picture of what’s going on with your thyroid which would include testing for TSH, free T4, free T3, reverse T3 (rT3), as well as thyroid antibodies to check for auto immunity.
